ABOUT US
Solid Ground NC is a Christian nonprofit in Goldsboro, founded in 2023 to bridge the gap between
treatment and independent living.
OUR MISSION
To bridge the gap between completing substance use treatment and living independently by providing transitional housing, community, accountability, and support for individuals in recovery.
Before founding Solid Ground NC, Chris and Shere’ Myers mentored women graduating from a one-year residential recovery program in Goldsboro. They watched these women finish the hard work of treatment, only to struggle to find a safe place to live.
Credit issues, short work histories, past charges, and no housing references closed door after door. Returning to former homes or relationships put their sobriety at risk, and moving away cut them off from the support and accountability they had built during treatment.
Solid Ground NC was formed to offer another way forward: a step between treatment and fully independent, sober living.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
When people committed to sobriety have a safe home, supportive relationships, accountability, and room to grow, they are far more likely to stay sober, build stability, and move into independent living.
OUR TEAM
“Where there is no guidance the people fall, but in abundance
of counselors there is victory.” PROVERBS 11:14
Solid Ground NC is blessed to have board members from diverse backgrounds who are uniquely
equipped to help carry out this vision.
