Who We Are

Solid Ground, NC is a Christian, non-profit organization which was incorporated in 2023 by Chris and Shere' Myers. It is currently operating under the umbrella of the Wayne Charitable Partnership of Wayne County, North Carolina while individual 501(c)3 status is obtained.

After mentoring several ladies who graduated from a one year, in-patient, vocational training and substance abuse recovery program, Chris and Shere' saw the need for a different housing opportunity. Due to credit issues, a short work history, lack of housing references, previous drug charges and other factors, it was extremely difficult for these ladies to find safe housing. Returning to former housing and/or relationships often had negative outcomes, as the temptations there were exceedingly strong. Additionally, moving away from the Goldsboro area isolated them from the supportive relationships and accountability that they had built over the year of treatment. 

Therefore, Solid Ground, NC was formed to provide another alternative. It is our goal that this will provide another step forward in the journey toward completely independent, sober, living.
